Rainy & Romantic Swan-E-Set Wedding | Tyler + Melissa

To say that Melissa & Tyler’s Swan-E-Set wedding was a little rainy would be an understatement. It poured harder than I’ve seen in a long time. Fortunately rain on your wedding day is a good luck sign that you’ll be together for all of eternity, so we gladly bared the storm for these two. Back in February I attended Foundation Workshop, which was a total game changer and one of the toughest workshops out there for Wedding Photographers, and I was very apprehensive about shooting my first post-Foundation wedding. At Foundation I had been continuously reminded by my mentors to slow down, to breathe, to see, to have stronger compositions, to be more careful of exposures, shoot more compelling moments. To take all of the things I learned to our next wedding felt a little overwhelming. The night before I stayed up worrying about how I would shoot, but when the actual day came, I remembered how much I just adored these two and shooting them was incredibly easy. Not to say I didn’t work my butt off for every single shot, but I certainly didn’t have to look very hard to see love. It was everywhere I looked. When I just stopped and took it all in I was surrounded. It was in every movement of their bodies. It was all over their mother’s faces. You could literally feel the energy eminating from the 3rd floor all the way from the ground and through the parking lot at Swan-E-Set as we headed back to our cars at the end of the night. It wasn’t explosive. It wasn’t anything I was expecting, but exceeded every expectation I could have had. It was a slow, steady, ever-beating pulse in the day. I feel so blessed to have been a part of it. Big ups to Brad who ran the photobooth & helped out in the morning, and to John Bello who kicked some serious ass second shooting with us. romantic wedding portraits in vancouver purple and silver wedding decor swan-e-set swan-e-set group portraitsswan-e-set rainy weddingswan-e-set weddingsswan-e-set wedding decorswan-e-set rainy weddingswan-e-set rain weddingVendor Details: …more to come.
