Foggy Winter Lesbian Wedding at Grouse Mountain
I always have to laugh when we make plans for a wedding and the weather has other plans for us! Jen & Alaina were really excited to have their wedding up at Grouse Mountain, and we had big plans to hit the chairlift to get some pictures of them skiing on the slopes and some big landscape portraits of the city below at sunset – when the day started out we had plenty of sun so we were all a little shocked when the clouds rolled in, in the early afternoon. Those clouds caused one of the thickest fogs I’ve ever seen at a wedding and it was hard to see more than a meter or two in front of us, let along make landscape portraits – the backdrop was a white sheet!
Needless to say we’re pretty good at making things work even when the conditions are less than optimal and we think Jen and Alaina were really great sports about the weather being less than what they had hoped for – oh well, that’s always the risk with winter weddings here in Vancouver!
This cute lesbian wedding was a second marriage and what I loved most about it was that their kids were really involved in the wedding too – weddings are so much about whole families coming together even though media loves to depict them as these huge events between just two people.
