Caribbean Love at a Vancouver Wedding

Selena & Kamau flew into Vancouver for their destination wedding, but I was stoked when they shared with me that they were keeping their culture alive with a bit of a Caribbean twist.

We don’t have the classic Caribbean vans or ZR buses here that are so frequent in the Caribbean but I was excited when they told me they were able to locate a Black-owned Reggae Bus to transport their guests around the city.

In fact this couple did so much work to try to locate Black-owned wedding vendor businesses for this event – I really appreciated it.

While the wedding ceremony took place at the Museum of Vancouver so these two could look out over the ocean. The reception took place at the Black-owned Calabash, and of course Love Tree Photography is a Black owned wedding photography company! To me it’s just so beautiful that this couple used their love together to also uplift Black community – that truly is an act of love!

Another thing I adored about this wedding – Selena’s grandfather married the two of them! How cute is that?
