Personal – Barbados Vacation

Every year since we’ve been married we try to make a trip down to Barbados to visit with my family. Not only is it a great chance to visit with relatives, but its a chance for us to rekindle the romance in our relationship since we celebrated our honeymoon there. We try to set time aside for a romantic beach-side dinner out and take plenty of walks along the beautiful beaches there. When we aren’t doing that, however we really love to immerse ourselves in the laid-back Caribbean culture. We roll with the punches of the day, waking up early to enjoy the sunrises and then heading off to whatever adventure awaits us at the end of a crazy, bumpy ZR (the local transport system) ride. Some of our favourite places to visit on the island have been Bathsheeba (when the tide is out, the caverns and tidepools are amazing to swim in), Earthworks Pottery, dining along the St. Lawrence Gap, and snorkeling out in front of my grandmother’s house on Brown’s Beach in St. Michael. This year I decided to put together a coffeetable look-book of some of our past vacations and I thought I’d share a couple of pages from it with all of you!

Hi! I googled Heritage Hall wedding and found your photos! Then I googled your names and found this page, and I wanted to get in touch because I’m getting married at Heritage Hall and I would love to hear how you did everything – linens, catering, dj, liquor, etc! Please let me know if you have any advice! I am also thinking of doing our ceremony there and I’m wondering what your guests did while you took pictures and how that worked out.

Thanks!

Claire

Hi Claire,

We had our wedding catered by Memphis Blues BBQ House, & has friends who work in the industry DJ & Bartend for us. We rented linens from Lonsdale Rentals and while we went to do photographs we had our own photobooth (the same one we rent out). You can check it out here: Photobooth
