Pacific Northwest Engagement session at Golden Ears Provincial Park

Jessica & Bryan wanted an engagement session in a quiet location that reflected everything they love about living in the Pacific Northwest.

I love the Golden Ears Provincial Park is a Provincial Park. It’s located on the ancestral unceded lands of the həṅq̓əmín̓əḿ speaking Katzie First Nation and the Xa’xtsa First Nation. These lands were traditionally used to hunt and fish.

If you love nature you’ll adore this 500+sq kilometre protected park. Alouette Lake is an amazing place to go swimming and spend a hot summer day. The park is lush and green, with heavy moss and fern foliage. With rivers, creeks and waterfalls this mountainous terrain provides something for everyone, including the local beavers, deer, black bears, and mountain goats. There is a lower seasonal campsite which can be booked in advance, and I believe backwoods camping is open year round. Admittedly I’m not a snow camper, but it’s quiet back there even on a hot summer day, so if you’re looking to get away from it all this is the place.

Because Jessica & Bryan wanted an engagement session in a quiet location forest location this was the first location that came to mind – just far enough out of the city to be quiet, but not so far that we had to spend all day traveling to get there.
