Boudoir FAQ | Vancouver Bridal Boudoir Photographer

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and inquiries are starting to flow in!
I thought I’d post a boudoir FAQ for those who are interested.

Q. Where do you do your boudoir sessions?

Pretty much anywhere you feel comfortable! The more comfortable you are during your session, the better you will look in your photographs.  Most of our client’s have their sessions in their own homes, however sometimes this isn’t always possible. If you have a friend with a nice home you may want to ask if you can borrow her place for a couple of hours.

Alternatively you can rent out a boutique hotel room, or if you have some private property you can shoot outdoors. If you’re feeling confident in the summertime you can get into that super sexy bikini and shoot some scandalous swimsuit pics at the beach too!

Q. Do my pictures go on your blog or website?

We feature our best, current work on our blog and website. If you do not want us to use specific images from your session just let us know at your proofing session and we will ensure they are not used. Client trust, comfort & privacy are extremely important to us, if you have concerns about your privacy please contact us directly and we’d be happy to discuss it in more detail with you.

Q. Who shoots the boudoir sessions? Brad or Kendra?

All boudoir sessions are shot by Kendra. Occasionally we will have a female assistant join me for larger sessions, (such as stagette parties).

Q. Anything I should know beforehand to help me prepare?

Yes!
– Remember to wax, trim or shave any unwanted hairs 1-2 days ahead if you plan to remove hair to avoid rashes or bumps.
– Go easy on the deodorant  or use a clear deodorant
– Wear loose fitting clothing & underclothing to your session to avoid creases and indents

Q. Can I go fully naked?

It’s not anything we haven’t seen or photographed before.

Q. What should I bring?

Pack 2-3 of your favourite outfits. We usually only have time for 2 but it doesn’t hurt to have a back up. Stockings & garters can really play up a plain bra & panties set. Bring along any jewelery you wish to wear – pearls & diamonds are popular, as are any other special jewelry given to you by your significant other. Lastly, don’t forget a pair of high heels! Classic pumps/stilettos look good with almost all outfits, but a strappy pair of heels can really fire things up too!

Don’t forget makeup for a touch up and your curling iron/flat iron for touch ups if you plan to do your own hair & makeup.

Q. Do you offer gift certificates?

Yes! You can purchase gift certificates as photography packages that include prints, or as a denomination. You can make an appointment to come into the office to pick it up, or order one online by emailing us at info@lovetreephotography.ca.

Q. How to do I book?

First, contact us using the form on our website at www.lovetreephotography.ca, by phone at (604) 785-6147, or via email at info@lovetreephotography.ca.
We’ll get you booked in for a consultation to discuss your own personal goals for the session. You’ll need to place a retainer for the session in order to book your date. Once that’s done you’ll receive a copy of our handy prep guide.

Remember to book at least 6-10 weeks before you need your pictures back by! Flush mounted albums can take up to 10 weeks to get back from the printer’s. Prints and canvas only take a couple weeks but it’s best not to leave yourself strapped for time!
