Silk Wedding Albums with Handmounted Pages
Gah! I die. Silk wedding albums are my favourite! I don’t get to design too many of them because you definitely have to take more care of silk than other materials – its not easy to clean up red wine if it gets spilled onto your album, like it is with some of the dark non leather materials, but DAMN! it’s luxurious.
Here are some things you may not have known about our silk shantung albums:
- Shantung is a type of silk fabric historically from the province of Shandong.
- It is similar to Dupioni, but is slightly thinner and less irregular in their it doesn’t have as many slubs. Silk slubs are a lump or thick place in the silk threads.
- Shantung is often used for bridal gowns, and cocktail dresses.
- We offer silk shantung as a cover option in both our hand mounted albums and our designer flush mount albums, so regardless of budget you can get a stunning album with an elegant cover material.
