Chilliwack Country Wedding Sneak Peek – Chris + Chrissy

Back in August we headed out to Chilliwack on a very wet Saturday to document Chris & Chrissy’s beautifully intimate country wedding. While we were warned ahead that it was going to be fun and rowdy crowd, we were barely prepared for it to be as an emotionally moving day as it was, and I definitely should have had more tissues on me while I shot, because I definitely shed a few tears. Even as I edited this wedding, I cried! It’s funny when I first started shooting weddings I rarely cried at them.

I’m not sure if it’s because we take so much time to get to know our clients now, or if I have just become so much more sensitive to the power of a moment after 7 years of being a wedding photographer, or maybe just that through my own spiritually journey as an artist I have come to recognize that human emotion is essential to my very being (probably a combination of all of the above) but I’ve been bawling my eyes out behind my camera ALL WEDDING SEASON!

I just feel SO MUCH when I shoot. It can be overwhelming, and there have been nights where I have to pull over on the side of the road on my way home and just bawl. I’m grateful for my camera, because I cannot describe in words the sheer joy I have discovered in documenting love in people’s lives. I never leave for a wedding without first giving thanks for the opportunity to create, and then sending out a prayer into the universe to do that particular love justice in my work, and I never leave a wedding without expressing gratitude to both the bride & groom and their families for letting us in to their world for one incredible day.

Here’s a sneak peek from Chris & Chrissy’s emotional country wedding. I’m DYING waiting for them to get back from their hunting trip so I can show them the rest!
