Budget-friendly wedding albums

We believe that wedding albums are important heirlooms that everyone should have. You don’t need any sort of fancy technology to enjoy them. Long after CDs & USBs are out of production books will still be around. You simply open them anytime, anywhere, and enjoy. We offer a range of albums from budget-friendly wedding albums to high-end designer albums to eco-friendly alternative albums.

When couples come in claiming that they don’t need a wedding album, I’m always forced to think about my own personal experience with wedding albums.

My parents got married in 1982, and I was born in 1985, and a year later my father was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia. As his condition deteriorated, and he refused treatment he became increasingly paranoid and violent, and despite her breaking heart my mother was forced to move my sister and I to a safer place. Never once did my mom plan to leave my dad. We never expected that mental illness would affect our family the way it did, or tear us apart. Of course, I’m grateful to my mother for putting our safety ahead of her love, but it was hard growing up without my dad being around much. I spent a lot of time looking at my parent’s wedding album. It was like a secret key to a world I didn’t know. My father lost his car, his home, and ended up on the streets despite us trying to help him, with no teeth or clean clothes. I never knew my father to be anything other than a homeless mentally ill man. In my parent’s album he was handsome, and he held my mom tenderly as they danced, and it was easy to see that I came from a place of love and that gave me a lot of comfort growing up.

The fact of the matter is we just don’t know what the future holds. We hope its always happy, but unexpected things do happen, and I always think about that when Im shooting a wedding. I do my best to get a good shot of most of the guests, and to create a timeless art piece from the day that will become a family heirloom to my client’s children. For most people they don’t hire really great professional photographers except on special occasions -weddings, births/baby portraits, and maybe a family portrait every decade or so. If all of our clients only took one thing away from their wedding I’d say make it an album, every time, no questions asked. If I had had to look at pictures of my dad online as a kid, it wouldn’t have felt the same as hugging that old ivory velvet matted wedding album before I went to bed at night. I want that to be an option for every family.

That’s why we offer hand mounted wedding albums for couples who are on a stricter budget. Everyone has the right to have a family heirloom that can be kept for generations to come.
