Bodega Ridge Wedding on Galiano Island
A Bodega Ridge wedding is arguably the best kind of wedding to have on Galiano Island. Bodega Ridge boasts phenomenal views from these ceremony site and a beautiful covered area for an outdoor reception no matter what the weather is up to. Since all the guests can stay in cabins right on the property with all the facilities anyone could ask for, it really provides a close and intimate venue for couples with out of town guests to spend time together catching up and enjoying nature. That is exactly what our clients Amy & Con did at their summer wedding at Bodega Ridge.
Amy & Con live in Ireland, but Amy grew up here, and they met here, they wanted a venue that showed off British Columbia’s breath taking coastline while still being able to maintain an intimate and close feel for their wedding since some of their family was meeting for the first time. In order to honour both of their cultures they included signage written in both English and Irish for Con’s family, and honoured Amy’s heritage with a traditional Chinese tea ceremony.
One of my favourite parts of the day was when Amy, Con, Brad and I snuck off to hike to The Caves at Retreat Cove for their portraits. It was just a gorgeous location, if you’re willing to adventure a little bit, into some spectacular seaside caves. I will definitely be back to visit this place on my own.
We feel so honoured to have been a part of this beautiful blending of families, heritage and culture in such an awe-inspiring space.
