Weddings are about celebrating with the people who you love most, and today we want to celebrate the fathers and father-figures who have shared their beautiful stories of love and family with us.

We know from being parents ourselves what it means to bring a little human into the world that we love so much. Brad and I always talk about how we kind of half-dread the day she leaves and creates a family of her own because having her around every single day brings so much joy into our lives.

Patriarchy aside, we know that no matter the gender of our child there will be mixed emotions on our child’s wedding day — overwhelming joy and pride that they have found love, and yet a sense of loss as they forever leave behind their dependency on us as parents and become self sufficient households of their own with their partner.

Here’s to all the Dads out there who raise us, lift us up, and when it’s time, let us go to become our best version of ourselves.
