Richmond Wedding Photographer | Minoru Chapel Wedding
On September 3rd I second shot a wedding for my good friend Michelle Dixon. Michelle headed over to shoot the girls getting ready in Surrey while I headed out to The Sheraton Hotel in Richmond to capture the action with the guys. I really love shooting the groomsmen getting ready because there is never a dull moment with the boys. The guys had already started drinking when I arrived and we already razzing the groom, Allen. They had me in stitches as they tried to figure out how to tie ties and pin boutonnieres, and in the end I ended up pinning on a good majority of them. Once the dudes were ready we walked over to Minoru Chapel where they greeted guests before the bride, Bev, arrived. Minoru chapel is a very small venue so it was tough getting nice clean shots with 2 photographers, 3 videographers and a ton of click-happy guests stepping out into the aisle to get a shot but Michelle and I managed to maneuver around them all to score some beautiful intimate moments of the bride and groom and their families. I loved Allen’s mom – she was so emotional all day long, you could really see the love.
After the ceremony we headed over to Dr. Sun Yat Sen Gardens over in Chinatown, just on the border of downtown Vancouver (of course not before the newly weds stopped off at McDonalds for a quick bite to eat!). The gardens provided a stunning backdrops for family portraits as well as some romantic portraits of the bride and groom – not to mention a very fun place to shoot the rings! After portraits we drove all the way back to The Inn At The Quay in New Westminster for a gorgeous reception where the couple was received by their overjoyed friends and family. A perfect day if I do say so myself!
Congratulations to Bev & Allen. I wish you both nothing but many, many years of love and happiness!

The guys look like they were a blast to hang with! And that’s a pretty awesome ring shot!
