Offbeat Engagement Session at The Portside Pub | Alicia & Apple
We’re stoked whenever any of our friends get married. We get even more excited if we’re actually able to attend considering we’re booked almost every Saturday of the summer. Better yet is when we get the honour of capturing their wedding for them! It’s different than most weddings we shoot in that we know them better than most of our clients who find us via word of mouth or through an internet search. We see their relationship develop, we see their nuances and the little quirks that make their relationship unique and that is a wonderful advantage to have when storytelling.
It wasn’t a surprise to us that this shoot would be a little different when our good friends Alicia & Apple announced their engagement. Afterall this outgoing duo isn’t the type to get snuggly or cheesy in front of a camera – they are definitely too fun for that, and their love is about as loud as Alicia’s laugh. They spend a good portion of their day razzing each other, and way more time laughing together than getting super mushy and it was really important to us to show that in their engagement portraits.
We kicked off this offbeat engagement session the Olympic Village in Vancouver before heading over to The Portside Pub in Gastown where we wrapped up their session over beers. Check out some of our favourite shots below.
