Love Tree Photography’s Favourite Vancouver Wedding Venues
As wedding photographers we see a lot of wedding venues in the city of Vancouver. We’ve shot well over 200 weddings over the past nine years, and have become familiar with most of the local Vancouver wedding venues. Here’s a few of our favourite city wedding venues, and why.
HYCROFT MANOR
1489 McRae Ave, Vancouver
The University Women’s Club of Vancouver, or Hycroft Manor as its colloquially known, is a beautiful venue for weddings. The entrance Hycroft Manor is dramatic, with it’s ivy covered pillars. Couples can get ready on site in the tastefully decorated dressing rooms upstairs to save on travel. Downstairs is an elegant drawing room an a stunning solarium with vibrant green walls. Outside is a covered terrace, which is perfect location for an outdoor ceremony no matter the weather. After the ceremony couples can head out to the manicured gardens for portraits all on location.
Stanley Park Pavilion
610 Pipeline Rd, Vancouver
The central location of the Stanley Park Pavilion makes this Vancouver wedding venue an ideal location for weddings with out-of-town guests. This recently renovated heritage venue features all-white walls and a white ceiling which make it a photographer’s dream to shoot in.
Couples can plan a wedding ceremony in the famous Stanley Park Rose Garden, which is just steps away. With stunning flowers in the spring and summer months to gorgeous autumn colours in the fall and lush green cedars in the winter, Stanley Park is an ideal location for wedding portraits year round. This accessible all-in-one wedding venue is just a short taxi cab ride from a multitude of hotels downtown.
Cecil Green Park House
6251 Cecil Green Park Rd, Vancouver
If you’re looking for a venue with incomparable elegance and stunning views of the Howe Sound, Cecil Green Park House is a must. This phenomenal Tudor-style heritage mansion is located at the UBC Campus grounds. With private lush manicured gardens and cobblestone walkways this Vancouver wedding venue is both romantic and unique.
No matter the weather this versatile venue can host outdoor weddings on the covered terrace or indoor weddings for cooler weather. The solarium makes for a stunning indoor portrait location during inclement weather. Portraits can all be shot on-site, however if you feel the need to escape the crowd, the exceptional Nitobe Japanese Gardens is just a short drive away.
If you are planning a cocktail hour, the vast open lawn at this venue is the perfect location to host lawn games to keep guests occupied during family portraits.
UBC Rose Garden + Sage Restaurant
6331 Crescent Rd, Vancouver
Another beautiful location, not too far from Hycroft Manor, is the UBC Rose Garden. Overlooking the Howe Sound, this location is one of our favourite Vancouver wedding venues. The ceremony site can how 120 seated guests in the colourful and fragrant gardens. After the ceremony guests can wander through the gardens or head over to the terrace at Sage Restaurant.
This one-stop-shop wedding venue has an on site caterer, so couples looking for ease can find it at this wedding site. This modern venue features ceiling to floor windows, and a gorgeous marble bar. Not only is it a hip and classy joint, but it’s got lots of space to get creative in, especially if you have lots of decor ideas.
