Intimate Wedding at Furry Creek Golf and Country Club

Day One

Rheanna and Brandon decided to skip the big, crazy traditional wedding. Instead they decided to have a small intimate wedding with just 16 guests up at Furry Creek Golf and Country Club. They didn’t want to miss out on celebrating with their friends however, so the next day they had a backyard gathering with their friends to celebrate their union.

Furry Creek Golf and Country Club is a beautiful wedding venue with unparalleled views. Unfortunately there were really bad forest fires in the area when they had their wedding in August, so the view from the top of Furry Creek was obstructed. That said the reddish cast in the sky gave us some really cool effects that I simply have not been able to reproduce since.

I love it when couples write their own vows. Rheanna and Brandon wrote their own heartfelt vows and honest, I don’t think I’ve cried that much while shooting before. One of my favourite parts of their ceremony was when they passed their wedding rings around to all of the guests. Each guest took a moment to put a prayer or wish for the couple into the rings before they exchanged them. It was such a lovely way to involve wedding guests in the ceremony.

Day Two

The following evening we headed to their apartment complex where the couple enjoyed celebrations with friends in the courtyard. Pizza, photobooth, dancing and games all kicked off the celebration. My favourite parts of the evening though? An ice cream bar and Cards Against Matrimony. Cards Against Matrimony is a pretty hilarious take on Cards Against Humanity. It definitely kept their friends laughing.

At the end of the night the couple performed a choreographed hip hop routine for their guests, and everyone went crazy. It was clear the two of them put a lot of time and effort into rehearsing together.

I always find it really brave when a couple can get up and put on such a vulnerable performance! I’m so Grateful to Rheanna & Brandon for sharing their incredible wedding with us.
