Destination Wedding Albums
One of the things we hear a lot from couples who have had a destination wedding is that they didn’t get a wedding album with their package.
That’s a total bummer to hear because an album can become an awesome family heirloom and there is just something so wonderfully tangible about holding an album in your hands – it’s a feeling you just can’t get from clicking through digital files. Destination wedding albums are a great memento keep on your coffee table for years to come.
While the album below is an album we did for one of our own clients who got married in Cuba earlier this year, we’re happy to design and order albums for couple’s whose weddings we did not shoot as well! So what do you need to order an album from our wedding photography studio in New Westminster?
1) You need to make sure that you have written permission from your photographer.
Some photographers require that they do all of their own printing. We always respect another photographer’s choice to do this. Other photographers have no interest in printing or doing albums and will gladly sign over the rights for you to do just about anything you want with your wedding pictures. It’s important that you bring either a written letter from your photographer, or a copy of your contract with your copyright agreement to your first meeting.
2) Once you have secured your photographer’s permission you can set up a consultation to come in and discuss your design needs.
Our albums come in a variety of sizes and styles and there are many, many fabrics to choose from for your cover. The amount of pages you will require in your album will depend entirely on how many images you want in the album, and how clean you want the layout to be. For a small album we recommend 1-2 images per page, 4+ images can fit onto a single page of our larger albums.
3) Bring your files with you to the meeting. Our ability to print various albums depends greatly on the size files you were given by your photographer.
