Burlap + Lace | Rustic Wedding Inspiration

Burlap has been an ongoing inspiration for me this year. I hit up Etsy this spring and ordered myself some burlap table runners. I’m loving all the rustic details that are trending for 2013 wedding season. Although I don’t post a lot of the personal work I shoot, I do shoot quite a bit of it, and I like to inspire myself with wedding things I love!

I find inspiration everywhere I go. For example earlier this year when I was in Paris, France I really fell in love with blush and lace. I couldn’t help myself from buying a pair of blush Christian Louboutins, some decadent macrons and a bouquet of anemones for my room.

Before I left for France I met up with Gem Spierings over at Gem’s Hair and Makeup for a quick inspiration shoot as we pulled together some ideas for her website and facebook page. The result was a fabulous vintage updo with a feather hairpiece and some classic smokey eye for one of the looks and a casual, yet elegant side ponytail with natural makeup for the other.

When I returned from my trip to France I met up with a good friend Alicia, who is a local jewellery artist & goldsmith apprentice. To shoot some of her gorgeous new blush gems line. (Perfect gift for your bridesmaids? I think so! She also has an Etsy shop where you can purchase gorgeous children’s jewellery for that perfect little flower girl of yours!) Anyways I shot some of her work as well!
