On The Road | Victoria
Last week I was over in Victoria with Fran Chelico second shooting a multi-day Sikh wedding. Here’s a behind the scenes look at our trip.
Fran awake at the crack of dawn (4:30am) coffee in hand, ready to take on the day.
First ferry of the day, heading over to Victoria, BC.
We stayed at the Union Club of BC, in downtown Victoria. Which, incidentally is the scariest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. It looks like it’s straight out of the movie The Shining, complete with creepy quiet jazz music at midnight. Please, to any future clients, never make me stay here again.
But to be fair our room had a wicked view.
We went out to Clover Point to location scout for wedding day portraits. I was pretty stoked about this location!
We went for dinner with the fabulous Jenna & Tristan Shouldice, who are two of the most inspiring photographers I know. I always learn a lot about myself as an artist when I spend time with them.
I ate this burrito. It was as good as it looks.
iPhone photography to the max. This is a little blurry due to me being too lazy to go inside and get a real camera, and also a few glasses of wine.
Not sure if we were allowed to go out of our window, but it had an awesome balcony outside of it, so we figured, YES.
Day 3, the morning of the wedding the whole Uplands area of Victoria was crowded with deer amongst the residential houses. It was actually pretty cool.
That evening we boarded the last ferry home. Another wedding in the back. Friends & memories made, and a super happy & full heart.
Awesome! Love that you captured this to show the dedication and behind the scenes work of a photographer! Its not just about focusing and clicking – there is so much more like locations and lighting and so on ….
Love that picture of you on the window legde Frannie! xo.
