Surprise Proposal in Whistler

Hiring a photographer to capture a surprise proposal is the perfect way to commemorate a life changing moment in a couple’s love story.

By the time we are hired on most couples are already engaged, so I always feel really happy when we get the opportunity to photograph the proposal. I love documenting a wedding story from the beginning right to the end and this is just such an amazing way to tell the whole story.

When Alex contacted us to photograph his proposal to Raylene he didn’t really have a clear sense of how he’d do it. We ended up working with him to come up with a plan. Raylene had been wanting to do some couple’s portraits for awhile, so he told her he had planned a session for them to do pictures together for some family Christmas cards.

What Raylene didn’t know is that once we took the gondola up to the top of the peak Alex would be getting down on one knee to pop the question. Afterwards we took the Peak to Peak Gondola across the peaks and down to Whistler Village for a few portraits in town.
