Granville Island Engagement Session

It’s a wonderful, magical thing when a couple really connects with the am camera. Such was the case at Stephanie and Dalen’s Vancouver Engagement session. They were both so easy going and such a pleasure to work with.
I met Dalen a few years ago at his sister’s wedding, when I attended the rehearsal dinner at their parent’s house. The Starks welcomed me into their home with open arms and I’ve never forgotten their kindness and hospitality and have maintained a friendly relationship with their family since.
Fast forward to the end of 2012, I was delighted to hear Dalen & Stephanie would be tying the knot the following autumn in Stanley Park. I was immediately excited to see the Stark family again and to meet the White family!
Stephanie & Dalen’s shoot was a long time in the making, we had had to reschedule a couple of times due to weather as we had been hoping to capture a spring sunset.
We kicked off their shoot at Granville Island, which is always a fun place to shoot simply because of the variety between the cityscapes, colorful shops, marketplace, parks and water views. As some ominous clouds began to roll in we figured we better hit the beach in case the sky clouded over too much for a sunset.
We headed over to Vanier Park for a little bit when the clouds blew off and the sun peaked out low in the sky, giving us an incredible orange and pink spring sunset.
To say I’m excited for their September wedding would be an understatement. I cannot wait to see these two again in the fall for their big day!
