Engagement – Dylan loves Alaena

It was another early morning for Dylan & Alaena’s engagement shoot. All week long I had been prepping and organizing for a shoot in the rain, which one would think, would be pretty easy to come by in Vancouver. The night before I checked the forecast, which confirmed that it would pour and sent off reminders to Dylan & Alaena to bring a change of clothes since they would be soaked by the end of the shoot.

Fastforward to the morning, I got up, poured a cup of coffee, looked out the window and wait WHAT!? Sunshine!? In a moment my plans had been tossed out the window. No fear though! We headed down to Trout Lake in John Hendry Park, where Dylan and Alaena took their adorable pup Joy for a stroll around the lake. Joy was in absolute heaven, frolicking back and forth in the sand, while the newlyweds-to-be snuggled up on the beach.

We shot throughout the park, but before we wrapped things up we stopped to checkout the playground, and Dylan & Alaena has a quick shoreside swing while Joy merrily sniffed around in the grass. All in all it was a beautiful shoot, and rain or not we ended up with some really gorgeous pictures.

We are so, so, so excited to capture their wedding day for them this August at the adorable Minoru Chapel in Richmond – I just know it’s going to be an amazing day because I’ve never seen two people more in love than these guys!
