Small and Intimate Gastown Wedding at the Flying Pig

Our wedding season began really early this year with weddings in January, so save for a short break to catch up through November & December, it’s been pretty busy around here! George & Matt’s offbeat Flying Pig wedding was so much fun to shoot, it got Brad and I really excited about the upcoming wedding season.

Their day started off at the commissioner’s house where Matt & George exchanged vows in front of only their immediate families, before we headed over to Vanier Park for a few portraits.  After that we headed over to Commodore Lanes, where were they met their friends and continued the festivities and merriment with bowling and foosball. Then they hopped in a cab, and headed over to The Flying Pig Restaurant in Gastown where everyone shared food, drinks, laughter, and tears as the newlyweds celebrated their marriage.

I loved this wedding because it was just so low key. Weddings don’t need to be big and fancy to be deeply meaningful, and a whole lot of fun. We were so grateful to have spent the day with Matthew & Georgina, and so look forward to their friendship in the years to come!
