Buntzen Lake Rainy Engagement Session | Sam + John

Admittedly this rainy engagement session didn’t go according to plan – for one we were not expecting it to rain quite as hard as it did that day, but since we had already reschedule this session due to rain previously we decided to try our luck!

We arrived at Minnekhada where we had originally planned to shoot this session, however the area had been closed due to extreme bear activity so we were super bummed out, but unsurprised when we pulled into the back entrance and a momma bear and her cubs we’re sitting in the parking lot. We quickly phoned up Sam & John who agreed, that it wasn’t the best location to shoot, so we all turned around and headed to Buntzen Lake as a plan B. When we arrived at Buntzen Lake,  OF COURSE there was a marathon taking place. So parking was limited, and we had to shoot around all of the neon joggers (which I actually thought was sort of cool, but perhaps not what they wanted in their engagement portrait). Needless to say their pictures turned out great, despite the fact we were all totally soaked! I’m so glad they braved the rain because it’s actually rather fun to shoot in, and you get something a bit different when you can light the rain up!
