Burnaby Engagement Photographer | Burnaby Art Gallery | Amber + Jason

Last Tuesday I headed out to the Burnaby Art Gallery in Deer Lake Park for my last engagement shoot prior to starting my mat leave. My good friend & assistant Teni joined us (she’s currently studying photography at Langara, under the same profs I studied under!) to help out with lighting & packing all that heavy gear through the mud! …And muddy it was! Although the forecast had claimed there would be sunshine we ended up shooting in the rain for the most part – luckily Amber & Jason were well prepared with their gumboots & umbrella and they were totally laid back about getting a little damp! Just as we wrapped up it really started to pour and that pouring evolved into a hailstorm – luckily we finished just in the nick of time! Of course, by the time I got back home the sun was starting to peek out and a big beautiful rainbow was forming in the sky. Figures! This time of year is so finicky on the west coast! Well… they say it’s good luck if it rains on your wedding day – hopefully it’s good luck when it rains on the day you shoot your engagement pictures too!

I can’t wait to see these two lovebirds again in August for their wedding up at SFU!

Thanks Michelle! I can’t wait to shoot this wedding later on this summer!

wow..what a nice photos. I love it.

They can get married on a beach, or a local park for free. The mayor will marry ppleoe for a cheap price virtually anywhere. Plan an outdoor reception with a bbq or catered food if you can find a cheap enough vendor. No need for a band or dj perhaps you can get someone in your family to spin music or create cd’s and keep music playing while ppleoe eat and chat with the bride and groom. If you go with an outdoor beach theme you can plan homemade decorations on the cheap. Good Luck
